About the event

Agenda:

We will meet at the UW Arboretum visitors center parking lot. Once everyone arrives we will set up blankets to have our discussion and meditation. After the meditation we take a quiet mindful walk in the forest. During this walk we will see if we notice any shifts within ourselves or the environment around us when we walk with intention and awareness.

Information about the 5 Trainings:

"The Five Mindfulness Trainings represent the Buddhist vision for a global spirituality and ethic. They are a concrete expression of the Buddha’s teachings on the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path, the path of right understanding and true love, leading to healing, transformation, and happiness for ourselves and for the world. To practice the Five Mindfulness Trainings is to cultivate the insight of interbeing, or Right View, which can remove all discrimination, intolerance, anger, fear, and despair."

The benefit of these teachings is increased mindfulness and awareness of our actions. This meetup is dedicated to increased peace in ourselves and in the world around us.
